tools BRIGHTEN & PROTECT

Booth Shield offers outstanding coverage to protect your investment. The coatings are easier to use than traditional paper wrap and create significantly less mess. Once dry, the floor and wall coatings can stand up to heavy use, including foot and vehicle traffic. Booth Shield Peelable White for walls and floors brightens galvanized booths, giving them a clean white finish and ensuring prime visibility for working inside the booth.

toolsEASY APPLICATION

Booth Shield provides the flexibility to spray or roll the coating onto your surface and build to the thickness you need. Most wall applications are complete after just one coat, and floor coatings can withstand heavy-duty traffic after just two layers. Booth Shield dries quickly so you can resume full use of your booth within hours of application. If a booth surface is damaged, prep coats are available to ensure smooth application and release.

toolsFAST REMOVAL

When it’s time to remove and replace the booth coating, simply score the edges and peel Booth Shield off your surfaces. The durable film can be removed in large sections from walls, ceilings, lights and floors, saving time and creating less mess. Once the coating is removed, it can be compressed to consolidate waste and disposed of normally.

 236-061

 5 gal, 1,925 sq. ft.

 236-067

 1 gal, 385 sq. ft.

Benefits:
  • Makes removal of future coats easier
  • Water based, economical and easy to apply
  • Can be top-coated in 30 minutes with water based or solvent based strippable booth coatings
Application:
  1. Remove any surface contaminants and buildup like dirt, grease, soap residue, wax and loose paint. The booth surface should be clean and smooth so the booth coating releases properly when peeled.
  2. Use a roller or conventional spray gun to apply Booth Shield Wall Prep to fill surface defects and aid in the booth coating’s release.
Note: Booths that are not in good condition may need additional coats of Wall Prep to provide a better peel.
  3. Wall Prep can be coated with either water based or solvent based peelable booth coatings after drying. Dry time is approximately 30-60 minutes at 77°F (25°C) and 50 percent relative humidity.

Wall Prep Water Based is not recommended for floors. It should only be used on metal wall surfaces. Wall Prep should not be used under any of Global Finishing Solutions' floor coatings, including Peelable White Solvent Based Floor coating.

Download Brochure PEELABLE WHITE (WATER BASED)

Booth Shield Peelable White is a water based strippable coating used to protect spray booth surfaces from hazardous overspray. It is used as a temporary coating that is peeled off during booth maintenance.

 Part No.
 Peelable White

 236-064

 5 gal, 385 sq. ft.

 236-065

 1 gal, 75 sq. ft.

Benefits:
  • Fast dry, excellent coverage and easy cleanup
  • Water based, nonflammable, nonhazardous, environmentally friendly and economical
  • White coat increases brightness and improves working condition
Application:
  1. Prepare the booth’s surface by cleaning surface stains and removing contaminants. If the booth has heavy overspray build-up, apply Booth Shield Wall Prep.
  2. Ensure that the air, product and surface temperature are above 60°F (15°C) and are at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point.
Note: If lower viscosity is required to suit your spraying needs, you may reduce the mixture with water. Do not exceed 3/4 cup per 1 gallon of Peelable White Water Based.
  3. Using an airless spray gun or pressure pot system, apply wide, overlapping passes of Peelable White to the walls, ceiling, lights and windows.
  4. After the layer cures, score around lights and windows and remove the coating. Peelable White cures in approximately 30 minutes for 2 mils dry film thickness (dft) at 77°F (25°C) and 50 percent relative humidity.
  5. Spray Booth Shield Peelable Translucent over the lights and windows. It becomes transparent when dry, so masking is not necessary.
  6. Allow the Peelable Translucent to dry completely. You may resume normal use of the booth in one hour.

For surfaces in poor repair or surfaces other than galvanized steel, pretest a small area for peelability. Thick overspray accumulation or “shell hardening” requires 3-4 times the recommended film thickness and Booth Shield Wall Prep for optimal release. Cure times are increased by cold temperatures, increased film thickness and high humidity. Contact GFS Technical Services for additional information.
