GFS’ Industrial Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are portable, fire-rated buildings used for the safe storage of hazardous materials and waste. Applications include paint mixing, pumping stations, paint storage and other hazardous material storage. Designed for indoor and outdoor applications, Hazardous Material Storage Buildings feature explosion relief wall panels and an extra large spill containment.
GFS’ Hazardous Material Storage Buildings feature a continuous, one-piece, heavy-duty tube construction that forms both the base and sump wall for added product integrity. The building’s walls are constructed with 6-inch wide steel studs spaced 12 inches apart, and covered with two layers of 5/8” type exterior gypsum wallboard on each side. Walls are skinned with ASTM A591, 18-gauge steel white polyurethane coated panels.
Exterior surfaces are protected with a high-quality, weather-resistant coating in neutral white, satin-gloss finish. Interior surfaces are protected with a chemical-resistant coating in white, semi-gloss finish.
Explosion-relief vent panels are designed to release at a maximum internal pressure of 20 psf. Each panel is sealed to prevent gases from escaping to the exterior. Explosion-relief panels are equipped with FMRC-approved explosion-relief fasteners.
The roof consists of 7-inch deep joists that are spaced 12 inches apart. Two layers of gypsum board are attached to the interior and covered with 18-gauge, white polyurethane coated steel panels. The exterior is skinned with 18-gauge, white coated steel panels.
Surpassing regulatory requirements, GFS’ Hazardous Material Storage Buildings have an extra large spill containment that holds 30 percent of the locker’s liquid storage capacity.
Hazardous Material Storage Buildings feature a grated floor with 1-inch bars painted black. Six-inch steel beams run the entire length of the housing, and are positioned for holding heavy capacities.
Liquid tight, heavy-gauge sheet steel supported by exterior welded steel risers allow for under-sump leak inspection.
Included are interior wall-mounted grounding lugs, exterior grounding connection, and 8-ft grounding rod and cable for customer installation.
GFS' Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are factory assembled and portable for each installation.
Airflow at 680 cfm meets the optimum air exchange rating.
Doors are 1 ½-hour fire rated and UL classified and labeled. Each active door is equipped with a UL listed automatic door closure.
Hazardous Material Storage Buildings feature explosion-proof incandescent ceiling light fixtures with guard, glass globe and 300-Watt lamps.
Standard controls include a UL listed, NEMA 4, water- and oil-tight enclosure with fuse block and operating switches. The control panel incorporates voltage per customer requirements.
